Meet Mrs. Borwege
Being a part of NPAS is truly an honor and privilege. I am a native of New Prague, graduating from the New Prague High School in 2000. I graduated from MSU, Mankato in 2004. This is my 20th year teaching, but my 18th year in New Prague, teaching 3rd grade for 5 years and 4th grade for 13 years. This will be my first year teaching 2nd grade. I received my Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from (formerly) The College of St. Catherine in St. Paul in 2009.
My husband, Nate, and I have been married for 20 years. We have three children, Kaelyn (18, Freshman at the University of South Dakota), Cade (16, 11th grade), Kylee (11, 6th grade) and our mini goldendoodle, Oshie. My children say that I love my dog more than them :). This upcoming school year will be the first time, in a very long time, that I will not have any children in my school. That comes with a bit of mixed emotions...top that off with our oldest going off to college...bittersweet happiness! Between football, volleyball, cross-country, hockey (x2), baseball, lacrosse, golf, deer hunting, and fishing, their activities keep us on the go. We enjoy spending time with our families and have found that to be the center of our lives. Other activities that I enjoy are reading, camping, gardening, cooking, fishing (on very calm waters), going Up North, watching Gopher and Wild hockey and my MN Twins, and staying active.
Grownups, thank you for entrusting me with your most precious gift in life. I know it is a challenge to place that trust in someone you barely know, but I assure you that your 2nd grader will be entering a classroom where they feel a sense of belonging and pride in all they do, growing academically, socially, and emotionally. And believe everyone when they say that time goes fast!
2nd graders, I am new to 2nd grade, too! I look forward to getting to know each of you as we grow through 2nd grade together. Enjoy your last few weeks of summer...fill it with family, friends, sunshine on your face, and the things that make you HAPPY!
